    Default Scarlet minivet Female

You will hear the twinkling calls from the canopy as often and as you see that flash of brilliant scarlet, black and yellow among the greens.A brilliantly coloured and common bird of our forests. This one came down to feed on the larvae of a cricket.

    500D, 55-250, 250mm, ISO 400, F7.1, SS 1/140. Shot at Mudumalai

Nice to see it feeding on a larvae. Good eye contact, details and composition. Nicely captured. Thanks for sharing.

Lovely image Roopak. Except for the patch of grey on its head it resembles a Golden Oriole in every way. The male of course is brilliantly colored and distinct, however the female can divert attention to a different species a bit. Nice moment captured. Thanks for sharing.
