    Glad to be Posting after a long time.Been on a prolonged trip to Myanmar and Australia.This image is from an earlier trip to Bhadra.I had posted an image of the female of the species earlier.The bird seemed to be spreading its feathers as it called incessantly.Nikon7100+300+1/4 tc ISO 800 1/500s F/8.Feb 2014 late morning.

    Nice sighting of this colourful bird. I am yet to photograph it . Nice perch and composition. So which places you visited in Burma? Thanks for sharing.

    Nice bird. The catchlight in the eye helps.

    Since images from Indian subcontinent are allowed, look forward to some of the bird images from there.

    Mridul, I was based at Yangon and did move around a bit.My son is heading the the the World bank delegation there.Unfortunately Sabyasachi,I was not carrying my camera and lens.I was not aware we could post pictures of fauna outside India.Will definitely carry my lenses for the next trip there.The fact that I was going to Australia afterwards forced me to restrict my luggage weight.
