In this cropped composition, the horizontal is a bit longer. Our eyes are acquainted with the 35mm format proportions and any deviations makes us look at the image to find out why the deviation has been done. So generally it takes away attention from the subject. In this case, the wider horizontal gives an impression of fat bird, which it is not. How much of a crop is this? Thanks for sharing.
