There were many peaks we saw during our Himalayan sojourn, but one of the clearest sightings was of Nanda Devi, India's 2nd highest peak only after Kanchenjunga. We were staying at Joshimath and spent a day at Auli around 20kms further. The weather was clear and while we saw other peaks like Dhaulagiri and Bandarpoonch, they weren't as picturesque as the Nanda devi giving us a clear view in between valleys. And to think the Himalayas are still growing and are one of the youngest mountains of the world, its just going to get grander.
