A herd of Gaurs were munching on juicy grass as a distance at Tadoba.Among the herd was this little calf intensely staring at us!

Sweet little fella ! From day one it is the day of survival. Nice inquisitive and innocent look. Nicely captured. Thanks for sharing. SaktiWild
The young ones are very curious to know the things around them. Nice eye contact. I think the AF point has got locked on the grass stalk in the front. It becomes difficult to focus using Automatic AF with the tall grass stalks swaying in the foreground. Using manual focus can be helpful. The imposing figure of the Gaur in the background shows that it is under the watchful eyes of its elders. Thanks for sharing.
Agree with Mrudul. To get the eye in critical focus you may need to use manual focus if there is vegetation infront. I had learnt that lesson early when I was shooting a tiger in a clump of bamboo. Ofcourse those days the autofocus technology had just been launched.
