A Tiger can easily bring down one of the calves. But for that it needs to ambush the calf without the big ones not knowing about it!....I dont know about stats, but would like to know how many Gaurs are brought down by Tigers.

The young calves would have definetely attracted the tiger, but thanks to the elders, they are well protected. The other younger gaurs also are seen watching and learning how to protect the herd. Nice moment captured. Thanks for sharing.
There are so many small ones. Predators are always on the look out for such an opportunity to sneak in and kill a calf. Once a calf is fatally injured, even if the herd tries to chase, they tiger can tactically retreat. Often, gaurs cannot muster courage when a tiger has seized its prey as the mother can also get killed in the process. Thanks for sharing.
