Nest building activity begins during the Courtship feeding period. The initiation of nest building and the selection of a suitable site for nest building are very important events in the breeding of birds. The initiation of nest building greatly strengthens their bond and reduces the chance of divorce.
As the Courtship feeding is going on, the male places the nesting materials with his beak on a desirable tree branch and signals to start building the nest. He returns to the same spot repeatedly with some twigs, arranging the twigs and nodding his head forward to attract the female.
