I can't reiterate enough that safety is very important. At times to get an unique shot we forget that our life and limb can be in danger. So best is to take a deep breath and decide if we can safely get the shot and then proceed. We make mistakes when fatigue sets in.

You are absolutely right. I didn't know how far I needed to walk to see that bird. I had similar and worse experience at Chandrataal lake.
