The Daabka river is one of the major rivers which criss-cross the Corbett landscape. Even though the width of the river at any given time doesn't exceed 10 metres, the river bed is around 80 metres wide, owing to constantly changing course of flow. The exposed riverbed is a hotbed for illegal mining(for stones and sand) and we saw 2 tractors constantly removing the same from the riverbed. Even this niche is a habitat for many birds, insects and reptiles , which is often overlooked when a land is termed as 'barren'.

Nice composition. The thick vegetation in the background with the peak looks nice. The tractor marks can be seen at the left corner. Don't know how they allow this inside the National Park. What is the black semi circle seen at the right bottom corner? Thanks for sharing.

We are killing our rivers by illegal sand mining.

You can increase the brightness a bit more. There is something at the bottom close to the left corner. Someone's head?

    Cheers,
