    Default Purple heron Flight

This was taken from elephant back in the Dudhwa marshes. Was tough to keep focus with the Elephant moving constantly (wonder why this one was so fidgety )

Got some ok ok shots. Its tough to shoot action shots with the 1000D due to its slow FPS (1.5 in RAW). Anyway managed a few. Comments and critiques welcome

    SS 1/800

    Full frame Image. Shot handheld.

Love the compo. Would like more details in the head region. The colours look good.
This looks like a low-angle shot, how did you manage that from elephant-back?

Actually the grass is tall (10 feet) so it feels that way. I checked at 100%, the head looks reasonably sharp if not completely. The sharpest focus is on the body. Guess f6.3 wasn't exactly enough. Maybe 7.1 but didnt want to sacrifice shutterspeed.

The composition is fine. The image doesn't look sharp. Look forward to other birds.

Elephants become restless if they have to carry people for a long time. That is not their fault. Try carrying your ruckshack for the whole day and then you will realise why the elephant is becoming restless.

Nice display of habitat. Agree more sharpness would have been good. Thanks for sharing.
