The eye contact is nice. I think the focus is on the body, please do check the AF point. A narrower aperture would have enhanced the image further. It would have been good if you had placed the bird a bit more to the left of the frame. Thanks for sharing.
P.S - Do post the images without the black border, as it is a bit distracting.

A slight head turn in your direction would have enhanced the eye contact. Borders may be appropriate for prints, however, it distracts from critiquing your image. Also, the white on black and the size and the choice of font attracts attention. Hence, it becomes difficult to critique the image.

Nice image, was this shot in the winter as I can see dew on the grass. Agree with comments made by Sabyasachi and Mrudul
