I like the composition. The background is nice and smooth. The bit of dry grass at the bottom doesn't distract much. I checked the EXIF and noticed that you used a +1/3 EV as well. That has helped expose the blacks well.
You can perhaps sharpen it a bit more. Thanks for sharing.
PS: The file size is 147kb. Was that the original file size?
I agree that the best way is expose is to the right. So one needs to give an exposure compensation, if required, to push the histogram to the right without it touching the right frame. I like the composition. Cute fellow.
