    The perch looks nice. I would have preferred you place the bird a bit to the right. Could you move in closer?

    The background and the perch look good. I agree that moving closer would get you more details. The resolving power of the lens, the shutter speed, technique etc matters a lot in getting details in a cropped shot. To move closer, either you need to crawl a lot on your belly or identify and wait near the favourite perch of the kingfisher.
