i use manfrotto monopod, now i feel confident that i can get good image up to 1/125 at 500mm with it....i use both lenses. quality wise tamron is equally good up to 450 mm, only focusing is slightly slower and aperture has to be f/8....once you know limitations of equipment, you can get maximum benefit from it..in recently held small exhibition, i made about 50 good quality prints (12 x 18 inches) with tamron images...thanks for comments.

Lovely eyes. The perch looks good. The bird feels a bit centred in the frame. Some more space on the left would have been nice. Thanks for sharing.
Nice image.The Bg looks grt so is the eye.compo wise agree with bibhav.Even at f9 the tail seems out of focus.
