The focus doesn't seem to have locked on the face...Also, using f7.1 or so would have been better because the shutter speed is quite high. Nice that you tried a vertical..looks good

Neil,
I like the composition. I agree with Bhargava that since the subject was not moving it would have been better to use a narrow aperture and sacrifice some shutter speed. Lowering the contrast would be good as the trees have come out a bit dark.

Nice environment photograph. I liked the relaxed pose. Just a bit more space on the left would be good, as presently the tail is nearly touching the frame. Thanks for sharing.
