Default Great Egret about to eat an insect

This is actually the river Mula. Unfortunately it has been fully covered with floating vegetation causing death of large no. of fishes.
This has proved to be a great opportunity for egrets to get their stomach full.

The bird had just picked up the insect and was gulping it when this moment was captured.

Had set up my camera on the tripod and was tracking the action.

Nice moment captured. I was first not able to see the insect, but after looking closely I could see it . Thanks for sharing.

Is that an insect or something else? You need a 800mm for these shots.

It is a tough task to revive our rivers. However if the stakeholders seriously want to do it, then we certainly can.

Sabyasachi, would love to have 800mm; but till I get that I need to make the best of my 400mm f5.6.

Below is the 100% crop. Looks like an insect to me, not sure though.
