Nice image. When did you get the 2xIII TC? Cropping is an addiction. Unless you forcibly discipline yourself, your mind will not be conditioned to get it right in the field.

It was a canoe. Apart from the person rowing it, there was just me. I purchased the 2x TC III along with the 300 2.8 and 1.4x TC; just that I haven't yet posted any images with it on IW.
While there may be a risk of cropping becoming an addiction, I'm conscious of the fact that I am attempting to post more full frame images than cropped ones. In this case, with very shallow waters, there was no way of going closer to the bird, and hence no way of getting it "right" in the field. Perhaps, a 4x extender may have helped
