Hi Neil,
Good to see it with a kill. Composition-wise I would have given it more space on the top and slightly less at the bottom as the Out of Focus grass in the foreground is a bit distracting in my opinion.
I like the eye contact. A 3:2 crop would have worked as well.
You had enough shutter speed so a narrower aperture (f/8 would have given you 1/500 shutter speed at the same ISO) would have been better.
This is nice overall. Thanks for sharing.
Neil,
Which area was this in bandhavgarh? Was it possible to move to the left? I would have tried a narrow aperture to get more depth of field. You can trade off a bit of shutter speed for depth of field here as you were shooting at 1/1000th of second. Thanks for sharing.
Cheers,

It was shot at Rajbhera Dam in Bandavgarh. I guess it was not possible to move to either sides.
Quite rare to see a tiger with a kill. The eye contact and the pose is nice. I am fine with the grass in the foreground. Agree a narrow aperture would have enhanced the composition further. Thanks for sharing.

Wow! Lovely action captured, agree about narrow aperture.

Nice composition. Agree about the aperture. I dont mind the FG grass. TFS
A nice moment recorded.
I agree on the suggestions, but we always do not have that luxury especially on cramped safaris and rare sightings
