    Default Magpie Robin- Profile portrait

    Created in Bharatpur December 2009 with Canon EOS 1DIII and EF 500mm f4 + 1.4TC at ISO 640 f5.6 and 1/1000s.

Sabyasachi, can you please move it to the Birds section or delete it as I mistakenly posted in the wrong section.

Nice pose and eye contact. The details are nice. The catchlight in the eye looks good. Is this full frame? Thanks for sharing.

Thanks Mrudul. Yes, it is full frame, no cropping at all.

Pretty close. You just about managed to get the legs intact. Nice eye contact. The background is well diffused. It is a challenge to get the beak to tip of the tail in focus in these small birds. Since the tail is a bit angled away, narrowing the aperture by a stop may not have brought it into focus. Thanks for sharing.

    Cheers,

Lovely capture, Gautam! Nice exposure - one of the difficult birds to expose. DoF is nice and BG well diffused. I would have preferred a bit more space in the front.
