Default My 1st Male Asian Paradise Flycatcher/Ganeshgudi

Happy New Year & my best wishes to all @ Indiawilds for an exciting 2011! I shot this Asian Paradise Flycatcher at Old Magazine House, a JLR property at Ganeshgudi. It was just about 5pm & the light was fading, infact really bad, there was even more excitement of not just sighting this. All a sudden at least 15 different species of birds arrived in the resort at the same time near the water pots.

I always find the paradise flycatchers tricky to spot and shoot. Good that you got it in the open. Wish the light was better. Probably they were in a mixed flock. Thanks for sharing.

    Cheers,

Nice shot, Praveen! Window of good light is always short at G'gudi, especially on the inside. But it's such a nice place - hope everyone there is doing fine. This bird is difficult to compose due to its long streamers. Good that you could got nicely. Did you get other birds too? It seems you witnessed a nice hunting party on it's return path.

    Waiting for more from G'gudi!
    Regards,
    Tushar

Lovely bird. Nice perch and eye contact. It is surely quite difficult to compose with the tail. Wish the background was more clear. Thanks for sharing.
