    Default Greater Coucal

Wanted to get a shot where the peculiar hind toe claws which gives its genus name (centropus-spike feet) are visible. Got this greater Coucal close but light was pretty low.

It's the first time I've seen the peculiar toe in a picture! Great work.. The detail on the eye is good too!

Had never noticed its hind toe. The eye contact is good. The details have come out quite well at such low shutter speed. Thanks for sharing the information.

    Thanks Roopak,
This image is educational. Too often we are focussed in trying to click an image with good depth of field, eye contact, blurred background etc and fail to project the unique features of the bird or animal. This kind of image helps us in understanding more about the species. Thanks for sharing.

    Cheers,
