eagle in waiting

I shot this on my safari to BR hills wildlife sanctuary on 14-4-11 in the evening. I don't know the exact family this eagle belongs to. This is shot with 55-250mm lens and the image is unedited.
I am not getting "who is who section" where in I am suppose to introduce myself.

This is a 'Crested Serpent Eagle'. The light seems very bad. It is good you used a higher ISO like 800, but a slightly lower aperture would have worked in this case. When you are photographing against a bright background like the sky, you need to give a +ve exposure to get the subject well exposed. Thanks for sharing.

Hi Uma,
I agree with Mrudul's comments. The image is underexposed. This happens when you are placing your subject infront of a bright source of light, so the camera meter reads and exposes according to the sky/bright source of light.

When you review your images in your camera, check for the histogram option. If you find the histogram more to the left means the image is underexposed. In that case, you need to dial in a positive EV (exposure compensation).
