    Default Meditation

Saw this meditating Eurasian kingfisher at one silent corner of lotus pond in Hyderabad. Posting after running this through some levels and curves changes. Also this is a 20% crop. It was around 20 feet away from me and while I was waiting for it to turn around I thought of trying a different perspective.

    Preferred detail over noise

Nice composition. I wish I were with you when you saw this bird; I love the scene here and can visualise a couple of compositions at least

I wonder why you hadn't used f6.3 at least to get more details on the bird, specially as it is a little far way, a narrow aperture will ensure a better image. i've been wanting to discuss PP with you for a while now, but unfortunately, it never happened.

It is always tough to shoot these fellows as even a close approach results in the subject small in the frame. I remember once in bharapture, even at 800mm focal length, the perch was far away. The cobwebs in the bamboo appears well. A head turn to the side would have been better. Thanks for sharing.

The composition is nice. The clean background adds to the composition. The cowebs on the bamboo look nice. Wish it was closer, as there is some noise in the background. Is there a slight tilt, looks like from white line on the top, not sure. Try using a hide and sit near to it, if it is a regular spot. Thanks for sharing.
