    Default Red Wattled Lapwing

Thats what I call these noisy birds. Saw this lapwing in Osmania Univ while birding from the car as it was raining. With 2 people shooting from the front seat and me driving at the same time this is the best I could do. Should have used a narrower aperture to get more details on the bird.

    Camera Model Canon EOS 7D
    Lens EF300mm f/4L IS USM +1.4x
    Tv( Shutter Speed ) 1/800
    Av( Aperture Value ) 6.3
    Exposure Compensation -1/3
    ISO Speed 640

Lovely eye contact. The calling pose looks nice. The clean background adds to the image. Maybe you could have tried by including slight less of the wall(?) in the foreground. Thanks for sharing.

Thanks Mrudul, yes I could have reduced the brick mound in the picture by cropping it. Also the title was intentional as these lapwings are very noisy like the alarm calling langurs in the forest. Hence I named it that way

Lovely calling pose, the bg has come out well and the eye contact is nice. Agree with Mrudul about the crop.

I like the second one better because of the lesser foreground. Nice one given that you had to shoot through the window on my side I wish you start shooting at lower ISO/shutter speeds subsequently..

If you are shooting in Av or Tv mode, better to dial in an exposure compensation (+ve in this case) to get more details on the body. If the blacks are underexposed, then pulling it up later won't give you details there.

    Cheers,
