    Default Yellow Wattled Lapwing

This was shot in Maidannahalli last year on Independence day.

Wish the shrub behind the bird had not been there, however posting this as I feel it gives an idea of its habitat and its camouflage. :-)
Used a wide aperture to give a shallower DOF to the busy background.

    Canon 1000D, 300 f/4L IS
    SS 1/2500
    f/4
    ISO 400

    20% Crop.

I like the composition. The image displays the habitat nicely. I wish you had used a lower ISO as there was enough light to facilitate it. Did you make any images with the TC attached?

Hi Bhargava. I had not purchased the Teleconverter at that point of time :-)
I agree about using a lower ISO for this one.

I agree that the low angle together with the habitat makes this look good. The eye contact is fine. Lower ISO would have helped in less noise. Thanks for sharing.

    Hi Roopak.
Sadly, I am guilty as charged. Have not been able to go out for photography as much as I would like to and rains here haven't made things easier. And to top that off, my Camera body recently went dead. So I am without a camera body at the moment. Looking to buy another one soon.

    Hence, digging into the archives.
