    Default Coppersmith Barbet

Photographed this in Ranganathittu during the IndiaWilds meet. It kept calling for food, and was been feed continuously with nuts which it dropped sometimes. This process went on for a long time. It was nice to observe this behavior.

    Canon 50D, 100-400 mm L IS USM, ISO 400, f7.1, 1/250, hand held.

    Comments and critiques welcome.

The eyes full of joy after waiting look similar to those of a child. Thanks for sharing.SaktiWild

Very nicely captured. I hear their calls. But never get to see them at eye level. I will be leaving for birding in a few minutes. Hope I will get a good image.

    Happy Diwali.

Nice eye contact. The open mouth also shows us the tongue. The texture on the bark has also come out well. It was a nice sight to watch the mother feeding it. There was too much noise around, so I didn't record its sound. Thanks for sharing.

    Cheers,

Its a lovely sight. The baby looks ready to gobble it up. However, I feel it looks big enough to be on its own.The beak, the way its holding its fruit, overall size contribute towards its closeness to adulthood, however the colour on its head and body points towards it being a juv. Thanks for sharing.
