Smile School of Mahasheer - Ramganga

This School of Mahasheer was shot from a distance of more than 60 to 70m, the biggest one appeared to weigh about 10-12 kgs as per the naturalist. Two of them were quite large and moving very quickly with the fast current in shallow water of ramganga. Spotted them at a distance of about 50m, by the time could click they had moved another 15-20 m away on the far side. D7000, F/14, exposure 1/2500, ISO 6400, 500mm, aperture 5.3

Nice sighting. The mahsheer look quite big. A wider aperture and lesser ISO would have sufficed here. Thanks for sharing.

Nice to see Mahseer. Mahseer grows more than 10-12 kgs. Where was this shot? On the way to Gairal?

Nice to see Mahseer in Ramganga. The broad shoulder of this powerful fish is clearly visible. Mahseer has added value to the lore on Corbett T.R. being written by you. Thanks for sharing.SaktiWild

Nice. These fish grow huge. Mahseer are native to the river systems of the north, but their introduction into the southern river systems for sport angling has been cause for concern.
