Hi Ranbir
Is this a Pond Heron ? I did shoot a similar one at Adayar Poonga and i thought some book referred to it as 'Marsh Heron'. Maybe both are the same. . .

Rajan,
It is a Pond Heron (Ardeola Grayii). Some people may refer to it as Marsh heron due to the nature of its habitat. However, Pond Heron is the name and popularly referred to as Paddy bird.
The image is sharp. I like the way it holds on to the branch. Composition wise, I would prefer to place it more to the right side a keep on space in the direction it is looking. So you can crop a bit from the right to strengthen the composition. The image appears to be a bit dark. You need to increase the brightness a bit.

Ya.. This is a Pond Heron. Nice image , but agree with SP on the compo. Also you could clone out the twig in front of the bird.
