The commonest problem with such bends is that while you stand there, your eyes can see the complete grandeur from side to side; but the camera's vision is not as panoramic so the photo is somewhat less than what you see... Moreover camera catches depth in only one direction while eyes do in all directions.
The other problem is you can't back up too far without falling off the cliff

I once had a house at this kindda bend so i did several experiments, including a panoramic shot. Equally bad results.
What i wanna do, and am inviting suggestions:
Put up my 28mm lens on a stand. Insert two poles in the ground as markers.
And then revolve the camera to take 3 independent shots and then stitch them on a machine (and not use camera's panorama stiching)
My guess is that it should give me some satisfaction. has someone tried this?
